App development studio

We build apps that earn their place on the home screen.

Valor Technologies is a product studio for iOS, Android, and the web. We design, engineer, and ship software with editorial restraint and compiler-level rigor.

Services

Product, end to end.

One studio for the surfaces your customers actually touch — and the systems underneath them.

01

iOS & Android

Native Swift and Kotlin when the platform matters. React Native or Flutter when one codebase is the right call — never by default.

Swift · Kotlin · React Native · Flutter

02

Product design

Flows, systems, and motion that feel inevitable. We design in the same repo we ship from, so the file is never the product.

Research · UI systems · Prototypes

03

Web apps

Responsive product surfaces that match the native work — dashboards, onboarding, and the admin tools your operators live in.

TypeScript · React · Next.js

04

APIs & backends

Auth, payments, notifications, and the unglamorous contracts that keep an app honest after launch day.

Node · Go · Postgres · AWS

05

AI features

Assistive product surfaces — search, drafting, classification — wired into your data, with timelines you can actually audit.

On-device · LLM APIs · Eval harnesses

06

Launch & care

Store review, crash budgets, and a retainer that treats v1.1 as seriously as v1.0. We stay until the metrics settle.

App Store · Play · Observability

Selected work

Shipped, not staged.

A few recent products. Names altered where the client asked us to keep the work quiet.

Fintech · iOS

Northline

A private banking app rebuilt around a single ledger view. Cut onboarding from nine screens to four, and took first-session completion from 41% to 78%.

Marketplace · Android

Kiln

Craft-goods marketplace with offline-first inventory and a seller tablet mode. 2.1× order volume in the first two quarters after launch.

Logistics · Cross-platform

Harbor

Driver and dispatcher pair. Live ETAs, photo proof, and a checkout flow that survives a warehouse with no signal.

Health · Web + iOS

Lumen

Clinician companion for visit notes. HIPAA-aware sync, on-device speech, and a chart that does not fight the user.

Process

A short loop. Then we ship.

Five stages, one engagement. You see the work as it happens — not a slide deck after the fact.

Thinking

Discover

Users, constraints, and the one metric that would make the app worth building. Two weeks, not a quarter.

Grepping

Map the system

We read the existing code, contracts, and store listings. Nothing is redesigned in a vacuum.

Reading

Architecture

Navigation, data, and the hard edges: payments, auth, offline. Written down before the first pixel hardens.

Editing

Build

Weekly builds on TestFlight and Play Internal. Design and engineering share a branch.

Done

Ship & stay

Review, crash budget, and a 90-day care window. v1.1 is part of the original brief.

Engagement · Harbor v2

Thinking Scope the offline checkout path
Grepping PaymentClient.swift · OrderStore.swift
Reading Existing dispatcher API + photo proof flow
Editing CheckoutView.swift · ProgressRail
Done TestFlight 2.4.0 · 44px pay target

How we work

A studio, not a bench.

Most app vendors rent hours. We take the product on as if it were ours — because for the length of the engagement, it is.

Typical vendor

StaffingRotating contractors
DesignHandoff files, then silence
CadenceMonthly status decks
CodeFramework of the month
After launchA warranty ticket queue

Valor

StaffingA named pod, start to ship
DesignIn the same repo as the build
CadenceWeekly builds you can hold
CodeNative when it earns it
After launch90 days of care, in writing

Clients

Quiet praise, from people who ship.

Northline

“They treated the ledger like a piece of writing. Every screen had a reason to exist, and the ones that didn’t were cut.”

Amelia Cho

Head of Product

Harbor

“We had three agencies quote a year. Valor had drivers on a build in week six, and the dispatcher console felt like the same product.”

Marcus Ellison

COO

Lumen

“HIPAA was the constraint, not the personality. The clinicians actually use the notes app. That is rarer than it should be.”

Dr. Priya Raman

Clinical lead

The studio

Small on purpose.

Designers who read diffs. Engineers who care about type. We take a few engagements at a time so the work stays ours.

Craft over headcount

Valor was founded as a counterweight to staff-aug shops. A senior pod — product, design, iOS, Android, backend — stays on your app until it is in the store and the numbers have settled.

We work from a single cream-and-ink system in the product, and from the same git history in the studio. No black-box sprints.

Where we sit

Remote-first, with a studio week in San Francisco each quarter. Timezone overlap with US and EU clients is non-negotiable.

Contact

Tell us what you want to ship.

A short brief is enough. We reply within two business days with a fit note — or an honest no.

New products

Zero-to-store. Discovery through v1 and the first 90 days of care.

Rebuilds

A legacy app that still has users, and a codebase that no longer deserves them.

Embedded pods

A Valor team inside your org for a defined surface — payments, onboarding, a new platform.

No mailing list. Just a reply.

Ready when you are.

If the app is still a sentence, that is enough. We will help you decide whether to build it — and how.
